Studio Spotlight: Barre Belle

What kind of classes do you offer on your schedule?

The Barre Belleprogram is a full body workout and complete fitness package.  Each class offers strength and cardio exercises designed for maximum results. Barre Belle Fit and Fat Burn are full body classes that include interval training using the barre and cardio sequences, and both finish with mat and core work. Ass & Abs has a reduced amount of cardio (though we promise you’ll still be sweating!) and is great for lower body sculpting and toning. Barre X is our signature class which is high intensity and uses dynamic and compound movement for maximum caloric burn. It’s a true game changer in becoming leaner and more toned.

When did your studio open?

January 21, 2019 in Toronto! But we originally opened in Calgary in February 2016.

Be honest. How easy is it to park?

There is tons of paid street parking during the week! Plus there’s a coupon code “crosstown” for $6 off parking.

Are there any upcoming special events or workshops?

We will be hosting a 30 day challenge in the near future!

What is your best selling membership package and why do think that is?

Right now we still have pre-sale pricing on until the end of February. $125 for one month unlimited which is a discount of $100!

What makes you love sharing your place of practice?

At Barre Belle I am able to share my passion with communities who genuinely have life changing experiences when they walk through the doors. Whether it’s seeing a big change in physique, or belonging to a community that becomes a second home, we are all holding each other up toward achieving positive goals. It’s incredibly rewarding to be at the front of that movement and a key part of that evolution.

Who teaches at this studio?

We have many instructors on the schedule, all with a strong dance background, and all have completed our Barre Belle training.

Are there any charities you support? If so what ones?

We love hosting charity classes to raise money of a charity that a client feels passionate about. We’ve recently supported breast cancer in Toronto at the annual Booby Ball.

What kind of retail do you sell?

We are strategic partners with lululemon so all of our locations across Canada sell lululemon merchandise that has been branded with our logo. We also have Flow water.

Last, what should a new student of your studio know?

When the Barre Belle program was created we noticed that there was no barre program that offered a complete fitness package. We wanted to evolve barre to include the best strength training and cardiovascular program while still being inspired by ballet. In a ballet class you train at the barre to get to centre floor where you do more dynamic exercise applying the “practice” from the barre. We wanted to emulate that, and be a one-stop shop so clients could come to Barre Belle, have a full body workout, and not feel like they still needed to hit the treadmill or bike after.

On top of that, we live in a “sweat obsessed” culture where results are obsessively measured by new technology - calculating calories burned, RPMs, or logging steps/distance. Our clients are surprised at how sweaty they are during and after class, and the subsequent results they get. Clients become addicted to the sweat factor (or the X factor as we like to call it, because our signature class, Barre X, burns between 500-800 cals)! Our classes are intentionally intense! Challenge is change.
