WeHo’s Fitness Scene Is Giving Everything
Your neighborhood guide to West Hollywood’s best studios, sweat spots, and wellness haunts.
West Hollywood has always done things differently. The energy here is unapologetically bold, the wellness culture is deeply personal, and the studios? They’re setting trends the rest of the country follows six months later. If you’re not tapping into WeHo’s fitness scene, you’re genuinely missing out.
Here’s your insider guide to sweating, stretching, and recovering in one of LA’s most vibrant wellness neighborhoods—plus a few Sunset Blvd staples near The Valorian and The London Hotel that make it easy to turn a workout into a whole-day reset.
Move: The Studios Worth the Drive (or Walk)
Barry’s Bootcamp — The WeHo Classic
If WeHo had a “main character” workout, it might be Barry’s. It’s loud, fast, and unapologetically intense—in the best way. Expect a split format (tread + floor), instructors who know how to run a room, and that specific post-class glow that says: I did something hard on purpose.
What they offer: High-intensity interval training with treadmill runs and strength blocks, plus a strong schedule of class times that makes it easy to stay consistent.
FGC Verdict: Best for: anyone who wants a high-sweat, high-energy workout with a cult-following feel.
Strong Pilates — The New-School Sweat
Strong Pilates is for the person who loves Pilates and wants to feel like they truly worked. It’s a modern, athletic take—think reformer-inspired movement meets strength and cardio, with a vibe that feels current and community-forward.
What they offer: Pilates-based strength and conditioning with a higher heart-rate edge than traditional mat classes.
FGC Verdict: Best for: Pilates lovers who want more burn, more sweat, and a little more edge.
John Reed Fitness — The Gym That Feels Like a Night Out
John Reed is where fitness meets culture. It’s part high-design gym, part music-driven experience, and it attracts people who want their workout to feel like an event. If you’re the type who’s motivated by atmosphere, this one’s for you.
What they offer: Full-service gym training plus a schedule of group classes, all wrapped in a very WeHo aesthetic.
FGC Verdict: Best for: anyone who wants a premium gym experience with serious energy.
Heated Pilates Studios
WeHo is home to some of the first heated Pilates studios in all of Los Angeles — 95-degree rooms, mat-based work, resistance bands, and weights. These classes are challenging in the best way, and the community that’s formed around them is tight-knit and welcoming. See our last blog for a list of our favorites!
Boutique Barre & Sculpt
The Santa Monica Blvd corridor has no shortage of barre and sculpt studios offering everything from classical technique-focused classes to the kind of high-energy, music-driven sculpt that feels more like a dance party. Check studio apps for class formats because offerings vary widely.
Recover: Because Rest Is a Workout Too
Cold Plunge & Sauna Culture
WeHo has fully embraced the contrast therapy trend. Several studios and dedicated recovery spaces now offer cold plunge pools and sauna suites — sometimes as standalone sessions, sometimes paired with workout memberships. The science is real: alternating between heat and cold dramatically improves circulation and reduces muscle inflammation.
Red Light Therapy
You’ll spot red light therapy panels in everything from full-service gyms to boutique recovery studios. Fifteen minutes under the panels post-workout can speed muscle recovery and improve skin quality. It sounds woo-woo until you try it — then you become a convert.
Stretch & Mobility Studios
Assisted stretching studios are having a major moment in WeHo. These are dedicated spots where a trained practitioner takes you through a full-body stretch session — you’re completely passive, they do all the work. It feels indulgent but the mobility gains are very real.
Sunset Blvd Recovery Circuit (The Valorian + The London Hotel Area)
If you’re doing WeHo wellness anywhere near Sunset Blvd, this is where recovery becomes part of your routine—not a “nice idea” you never schedule.
Remedy Place (8305 Sunset Blvd) — a social wellness club built for contrast therapy and a full-body reset.
FaceGym (8490 Sunset Blvd) — a workout for your face (and honestly, your mood). Perfect before a dinner, event, or content day. Use code USWELCOME for $45 off.
Next Health (8570 Sunset Blvd, Suite 6.1A) — for the biohacker-curious: longevity, optimization, and next-level wellness modalities.
PureLux Scalp Spa (8590 Sunset Blvd, Suite 9.1) — the underrated nervous-system reset. Scalp care is self-care.
Fuel: Eating Well in WeHo
The neighborhood runs on acai bowls, matcha lattes, and high-protein everything. A few favorites:
Erewhon on Beverly — the OG wellness grocery. The smoothie bar alone is worth the trip (and the price tag).
Alfred Coffee — beloved for a reason. Grab an oat matcha and debrief post-class.
Gracias Madre — plant-based Mexican that actually satisfies. Perfect post-workout dinner spot.
Sunset Strip Fuel Stops (Quick, Clean, Actually Good)
If you’re moving between workouts, meetings, and hotel life near The Valorian or The London Hotel, these are the easy wins:
Pura Vida Miami (8720 Sunset Blvd) — the “healthy but still exciting” go-to for bowls, salads, and grab-and-go that feels elevated. Brand new to the Sunset Strip and we are loving it.
Dialog Cafe (8766 Holloway Dr) — a local favorite just off Sunset for coffee that actually hits. Known for their smoothies, wraps and breakfast burritos.
The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker (8653 Sunset Blvd) — come here when you want your coffee moment to feel like a moment. Colorful latte art & good boozy brunch spot.
Handles Coffee (8535 Sunset Blvd) — reliable, easy, and perfect when you just need a great coffee without overthinking it. First time? Try the Flat White or WeHo Latte. Open til 4:30pm.
The WeHo + Sunset Wellness Walk
If you have a free morning, here’s the ideal circuit:
Early morning heated Pilates or sculpt class
Cold plunge or sauna session (or book a reset at Remedy Place)
Walk the Sunset Strip for a post-sweat nervous system downshift
Coffee stop: Handles, The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker, or Dialog Cafe
Grab something clean and satisfying at Pura Vida Miami
Optional glow-up add-on: FaceGym or PureLux Scalp Spa
Finish with a slow walk through Plummer Park for a true reset
Getting There
Most WeHo studios are accessible by bike or a short rideshare from surrounding neighborhoods. Parking can be tricky on Santa Monica Blvd and along Sunset—many places validate, but always check ahead. The area is also very walkable if you’re staying nearby (especially if you’re posted up around The Valorian or The London Hotel).
